While there was no specific signage or stickers found in the kitchen, everything in the condo, including the plates and cutlery, looked very clean.

The resort has its own grocery delivery service, called Store2Door, that allowed us to stock the kitchen with food, so it was not necessary to leave the unit to eat. Opposite the laundry closet was the door to the garage, which easily fit my large Toyota Highlander, with extra space for the trash and recycling bins against the wall. There were two bathrooms in the unit, and the master bathroom came with a Jacuzzi tub with jets.

There was also a standalone shower, and I appreciated the second, detachable showerhead arm. The bathroom was immaculate upon arrival and included complimentary, single-use Olivia Farmacia toiletries. The second bathroom was equally as large as the master bathroom, but instead of a separate shower and Jacuzzi tub there was an all-in-one tub and shower, along with double sinks. The King-size bed took up half the room I was staying in. The rest of the room was plain but sufficient, with rich, brown furniture and crisp, white linens.

The blackout curtains kept the room nice and dark in the mornings and made mid-day naps after busy mornings possible. The living room had a cozy, mountain style with green carpeting, cream-colored drapes, and a green and blue patterned couch. The decor was slightly dated and not particularly upscale, but there was still a welcoming vibe to the place.

An alcove adjacent to the living room served as the dining area with a long wooden table and six chairs. A friend of mine even commented that the condo would be a great space to host Thanksgiving or a similar family holiday thanks to the ample seating and large kitchen. There was a door in the living room that led to a small balcony that was comprised of a small glass top table and four chairs. The best outdoor space, though, was the private deck off our unit.

Though we didn't ultimately take advantage of it, we were tempted to light up the deck's grill for a meal.

The condo sat on its own separate plot of land and it felt very reassuring to stay in a space that was separate from other guests with its own entrance. However, we could see people walking the neighborhood for exercise or loading their cars in the driveways. We always remained well over six feet apart from the other neighbors and observed guests wearing masks when close to one another. Although there weren't any stickers or seals certifying cleanliness, everything in the unit felt clean, from the kitchen counter and bathroom surfaces to the couches and sheets, so I didn't feel like I needed to perform my own disinfecting routine.

Despite the higher price point, I found my Regal Vista condo to be an exceptional value, especially since I was splitting the cost of the two-bedroom space. I would book a condo again on a return visit for the extra space, added amenities, and peace of mind that comes with having a fully separate accommodation with its own plot of land, entrance, and deck.

Many families or groups would likely be best suited to the condos. While the rooms themselves aren't anything special, the price is hard to beat and guests still have access to the resort amenities. In addition to the Regal Vista condos, there are several other levels of condo options of varying sizes and price points.

By far the best part of Massanutten Resort , and truly the reason I chose to stay here, is the vast and varied activities to choose from right on the sprawling grounds. A wide variety of activities are included in the fee, including access to the indoor and outdoor pool, massage and stretching classes at the Massanutten Spa, the resort's drive-in movie night, the miles of hiking trails, multiple pools, and more.

Massanutten has a lift-served Mountain Bike Park with over 30 miles of beginner, intermediate, and advanced lift trails on the Western slope trail system. Since my friends and I were all beginners, we decided to sign up for lessons. We had a fabulous time roaming the area by bike, and were reassured by our instructor wearing a mask. The stacks of bikes and knee pads were also sorted into "used" and "new" piles, suggesting that the used gear was disinfected after each rider.

Massanutten Resort 's Family Adventure Park is still operating, but the canopy tour and climbing walls were closed for maintenance on the day I visited.

However, we were able to experience the Mega-Zip zipline that spans feet, suspended over the park. I was required to sanitize my hands before riding, as well as keep my mask on at all times. This held true for the staff assisting each rider. The Adventure Park also had tubing, and my friends and I had an absolute blast racing each other down the foot long lanes, which were sanitized between every rider.

I can only imagine the delight kids would have zooming down the zipline or lanes. Additionally, groups of friends or families can try their hand at the on-site Mayday Escape Room , where the clock downs from 60 minutes while you try to solve clues and puzzles to escape in time.

Not to mention there's a massive waterpark, multiple pools, and a golf course to enjoy during warmer months. Though I didn't try it out, the indoor waterpark is a particularly popular draw. A four-season destination, Massanutten Resort offers plenty of winter fun , too.

Both beginner and experienced skiers can enjoy Massanutten Resort's 70 skiable acres, which includes 14 runs serviced by seven lifts, wide-groomed trails, terrain parks, and night skiing. Guests can also snowboard, ice skate, or go snow tubing. For pampering, the spa is currently open. There are several dining options available on property, including the Campfire Grill , which had outdoor fire pits that made eating outdoors on chillier nights cozy.

For lunch, Base Camp was our favorite option because it was located next to the Family Adventure Park. The lounge-style seating on a large deck was a comfortable setting to order American-style fare while enjoying a cocktail. From what I observed, cleaning protocols were being followed at all restaurants, and tables were spaced for social distancing. There is no shuttle available on the vast grounds, so it is necessary to have a car at all times.

When I was on the property, I never had problems finding parking in the various large lots. For the outdoor enthusiasts, the area surrounding Massanutten offers the chance to enjoy nature away from any crowds. Especially ideal during the autumn months, the western side of Massanutten mountain has 30 hikeable miles. One hike I highly suggest is the Kaylors Knob Trail, which runs a moderate 1.

CrossKeys Vineyards is a minute drive from Massanutten Resort and offers minute educational tours, as well as wine tastings. The Shenandoah Caverns are a minute drive from the property and well worth a day trip.

Visitors head deep underground on on-hour tours to explore the cave's 17 rooms and passageways. Massanutten Resort has a 3. However, comments referencing the Regal Vistas are especially positive and remark on the sweeping views, spacious rooms, and comfortable furniture.
